Mobile Acquisition and Crypto User Activation at RockWallet

A crypto wallet is only worth installing if someone puts it to use. RockWallet needed mobile growth that carried on past the download and into activation.

The brief

Grow the wallet, then get it used.

RockWallet came to us wanting more people on the app, and more of those people actually using it. Installs on their own were never the point: an empty wallet does nothing for the business.

So the brief had both halves from the first conversation — scale mobile acquisition, and move the users it brought in through to activation.

The approach

Mobile first, from the first impression.

The campaign was built for the phone, because that is where a wallet lives. Acquisition ran as a mobile-first programme, with every placement judged on whether it brought in people ready to use a crypto product.

Where the work focused

The gap between the install and the first real use.

The part of the funnel that mattered was the step after acquisition. We watched the path from new user to activated user closely, because that is where crypto apps lose the people they have paid for.

Sources that sent installs without activation were treated as the cost they were, not as volume.

What it delivered

A path that holds up at scale.

The outcome was a repeatable route from acquired user to activated crypto user — one that could take more budget without the quality falling away underneath it.

An install is a promise. Activation is the part that pays.
